God Does Not Need Us

Acts 17:24-25 NIV
[24] “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. [25] And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.

I am surrendered to Jesus Christ, not because He needs me but rather I need Him. In sin I am in rebellion against the one true living God. The creator of the universe and everything within it. I have offended Him. Yet, in His love for me, He stepped off His throne and took my place in God’s wrath upon sin so I could be pardoned and forgiven. He did not do this because He needs me but because He loves me. He knew without His sacrifice to cover my sins, I would be lost forever. He knew that I needed Him.

And because He first loved me so much as to die in my place so I could be saved from my own sins, I now love Him and owe Him my entire existence forever.

Thank you Jesus for loving me. Thank you that, although you don’t need me, you want me. Lord, I bow my heart in full surrender and deep gratitude for your patience and grace. Thank you for not giving up on me.

In your precious and Holy Name, Lord Jesus I praise you,

Stand in awe today as you gaze upon our wonderful God. Consider the infinite depth of His love for you. You will find that as you dwell upon His holiness and His deep affection for you, knowing that He doesn’t need you but that He loves you deeply, the only response that remains is to bow your heart in complete reverence and surrender to the one, true, Almighty God.

May God bless you as you fall into the comfort of His loving arms.
