John 3:16-17 NIV
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
John 14:6 NIV
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Hebrews 2:3 NIV
how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.
These verses (as well as many others) from the Holy Word of God, speak of the salvation from sin and death that can only be found in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is crystal clear that we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glorious standard of absolute perfect holiness. A standard we can never hope to attain due to our sinful nature. But in His perfect love for us, God sent His Son Jesus, who willingly stepped into His own creation to save us.
God’s wrath remains upon sin. If we choose to stay in our sin then we remain under God’s wrath upon that sin.
But if we turn from our sin and ourselves and turn in complete surrender to Jesus, acknowledging and confessing Him as Lord and God and trust in His victory over sin and death on our behalf, He will forgive us. He will wash our sins away. He will impart upon us His perfect holiness and righteousness.
Jesus Christ alone, in perfect love for us, willingly went to His death upon a Roman cross as God poured out His wrath on sin upon His holy and perfect Son on our behalf so that all who would receive Him by faith will be saved.
Jesus Christ alone can save us from God’s wrath upon sin because Jesus Christ alone paid the price for our sins.
There is no greater love in all of history or ever will be than God’s love poured out for us upon that cross. He gave His life so that we might be reconciled and have eternal life with Him.
How can we escape the wrath of God upon sin if we ignore so great a salvation that we have in Jesus Christ.
I hope you have a very happy easter and I pray that if you haven’t already, that you would find peace, grace, mercy and love and salvation in the precious and holy name of the Lord God Jesus Christ.
1 Timothy 2:3-5 NIV
This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,
