1 Chronicles 16:34 NIV Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
God’s love for us is deeper than we can ever imagine. We are His precious creation in which He takes great pleasure.
Today, pause for a moment and think about the fact that the God of all creation, the God that spoke the universe into existence, the God that created that tree you see everyday in a way that it’s fibers grow and multiply, branch out and sprout leaves, taking in our carbide dioxide in and breathing out oxygen for us to breathe in, the God that created the complex eyes that you are using to read these words and the brain that is able to translate your vision into thought and understanding, the God that has done all this and infinitely more, loves you so dearly that He would step off His throne, become human like one of His own creation, making Himself a little lower than the angels which He also made, and walked among us. Then, willingly and obediently to God the Father, went to the cross and bore the weight of sin for all humanity throughout all time, past, present, and future, every part of sin and death and destruction, every sorrowful burden caused by our rebellion against Him, and took the wrath and punishment from God for all that sin upon Himself so that we might be saved from our sins and live with Him in His kingdom for all eternity, reconciled to our living God and Father through the love and sacrifice of our Lord and God Jesus Christ and comforted and guided by our God the Holy Spirit. Our one triune God working together to bring us back into fellowship with Him.
As we humble ourselves today before our awesome God, let us give thanks to Him with praise and worship, and bow our hearts to Him in complete trust and total surrender, because His love for us does indeed endure forever.
God bless you church family, and to all who are celebrating our American holiday today, Happy Thanksgiving!
