Jesus said the road to destruction is broad and the gate to destruction is wide and MANY enter through it.
MANY
I hear people these days, “My Jesus understands and loves everyone, so it’s all good”
Jesus does understand, and He does love everyone but, it’s not all good.
Not everyone goes to Heaven. Not everyone is saved. There are MANY who will be cast into the lake of fire for eternity.
Jesus came to save us from destruction. He stepped into His own creation and became like us to take the curse of sin that we are all under upon Himself to put it to death on the cross in His own body so that by God’s grace THROUGH faith in Jesus we could be saved.
We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God but we are justified freely by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Jesus’ words:
“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
— Matthew 7:13-14
In John 10:7-9 we learn that Jesus Himself is the small gate and the narrow way that leads to life and all who enter by Him will be saved.
There is no other way to be saved from God’s coming wrath upon sin. There’s no other way to be reconciled to God. Jesus is the only One who paid the ransom for us with His own blood. The choice is up to us though. Do we want Him, or do we want our sin and our own way of living? Are we willing to repent and surrender to Him as Lord? Or do we love our lives too much to let it all go and let Him be Lord over us?
He loves you. He died on the cross for you. He wants you to come and be forgiven and be set free from the curse of sin and the eternal death it holds on those who are still under it. God’s command is to everyone everywhere to repent. God is not willing that any should perish but that all would come to Him in repentance and be saved.
Don’t enter the wide gate that leads to destruction. Many will enter there and perish forever in the lake of fire. Enter through the narrow gate that leads to life. Be one of the few that finds it.
Eternity, forever life or death hangs in the balance of your response to Jesus.
Today might be your last chance. No one is promised tomorrow. Don’t wait until you’re dead to find out it was all true. Put your faith in Him now, today.
