What If Today Is Your Last Day?

Imagine you feel a flutter in your heart and start getting light headed. You realize you’re having a heart attack. You’re rushed to the hospital but not in time.

You never know if you’ll see tomorrow. The question is, when you finally leave this life,

Will you go to Heaven?

Proverbs 27:1 CSB

[1] Don’t boast about tomorrow, for you don’t know what a day might bring.

Hebrews 9:27-28 CSB

[27] And just as it is appointed for people to die once-and after this, judgment- [28] so also Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

The ABC’s of Salvation

A – Admit or acknowledge that you’ve sinned against God.

Romans 3:10 CSB

[10] as it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one.

Romans 3:23-24 CSB

[23] For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. [24] They are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

We have all sinned against God and in sin, we are sentenced to death.

Romans 6:23 CSB

[23] For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hebrews 9:22 CSB

[22] According to the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

The sacrifices in the Old Testament were a foreshadowing of Jesus Christ who would die once and for all to pay the wages of sin on our behalf, death.

B – Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord and that God the Father raised Him from the dead.

C – Call upon the name of the Lord;

Confess Him as Lord

Acts 16:29-31 CSB

[29] The jailer called for lights, rushed in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. [30] He escorted them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” [31] They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved-you and your household.”

Romans 10:9-13 CSB

[9] If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation. [11] For the Scripture says, Everyone who believes on him will not be put to shame, [12] since there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, because the same Lord of all richly blesses all who call on him. [13] For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

John 3:16-17 CSB

[16] For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

By faith in Jesus Christ we are washed clean of our sins, forgiven, reconciled to God and given eternal life!

What now?

Galatians 2:20 CSB

[20] I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

2 Corinthians 5:17 CSB

[17] Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!

Matthew 16:24-26 CSB

[24] Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. [25] For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of me will find it. [26] For what will it benefit someone if he gains the whole world yet loses his life? Or what will anyone give in exchange for his life?

John 15:1-17 CSB

[1] “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. [2] Every branch in me that does not produce fruit he removes, and he prunes every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce more fruit. [3] You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. [4] Remain in me, and I in you. Just as a branch is unable to produce fruit by itself unless it remains on the vine, neither can you unless you remain in me. [5] I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me. [6] If anyone does not remain in me, he is thrown aside like a branch and he withers. They gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned. [7] If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you. [8] My Father is glorified by this: that you produce much fruit and prove to be my disciples. [9] “As the Father has loved me, I have also loved you. Remain in my love. [10] If you keep my commands you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. [11] “I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. [12] “This is my command: Love one another as I have loved you. [13] No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends. [14] You are my friends if you do what I command you. [15] I do not call you servants anymore, because a servant doesn’t know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have heard from my Father. [16] You did not choose me, but I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give you. [17] “This is what I command you: Love one another.

As it says in Galatians 2:20, when we turn to Jesus as Lord in faith and repentance, our old sinful self has been crucified with Him. It is no longer we who live, but Christ in us. He works in us and through us now. In John 15 we see that we are unable to do anything for Him on our own, it is He that does the work in us and through us to His glory. We can now confidently and joyfully step out in faith and follow our Lord knowing that our salvation is secure in Him, we have been set free from sin and death and He sustains us as we remain and abide in Him and His Word.

If you have received Christ by faith, you have new and eternal life with Him forever. Your sins are forgiven and you are no longer under the judgement and condemnation of the law of God. You are now in His grace and mercy clothed in the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ because in Him the requirements of the law are fulfilled. God no longer sees you and your sins, He sees Jesus Christ covering you and by His blood that He shed for you and for me on the cross, your sins have been washed away.

This is just the beginning of a wonderful journey with your King.

The Real Battlefield

Our real fight is not with political issues. The real battlefield is not Left vs. Right or Democrat vs. Republican. The battlefield is spiritual.

Ephesians 6:12 says, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens.”

The enemy has distracted the church with many individual political and moral issues for us to battle while the real war waged on behind the scenes. While we are distracted arguing and bickering over the hot topics of the day, our Bibles lay closed on our bookshelves and the gospel remains silent among the lips of those who are called to preach it.

Satan has tricked us into thinking our Christianity lies within our patriotism. That it is our duty to fight against men rather than for them. So here we find ourselves locked in endless debates and conflicts over the symptoms of sin rather than the heart of it. We will never turn a sinful world away from sin by legislating against it. The only way for sin to be dealt with is by the shedding of blood. Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross and put sin to death once and for all. Those who come to Him by faith are freed from sin and death and given new and eternal life, born again and adopted into the Kingdom of God as His children.

We must stop being shocked and surprised when we see the world acting like the world. We know this is a sinful and fallen world that will one day be destroyed in fervent heat and those who are still condemned in their sins will be cast into the lake of fire for eternity. It is written that this will happen. We also know the only hope for anyone is in Jesus Christ alone by faith alone.

As born again believers in Jesus Christ, this is not our home. Our home is in the Kingdom of heaven. We are strangers in this land, Ambassadors for the Lord Jesus Christ to deliver the message of the gospel, of hope and love and forgiveness and freedom from sin. We need to stop trying to fix this broken land by debating the issues on the surface and focus on our mission. We need to put back on the full Armor of God and take up our swords which is the Word of God, the Bible, and use the weapons God has given us to fight the spiritual war we are in. Once again we must remember we are fight for people, not against them. We must remember who the enemy really is. The only way we can truly make a difference in this foreign land is by the declaration our Lord gave us to proclaim to the lost.

We must humbly meet people right where they are, remembering where it is we came from and what we have been freed from, knowing full well that without Jesus Christ we ourselves would still be condemned in our own sins and drowning helplessly in our own sinful nature. It is only by the grace of our God through the Lord Jesus Christ that we have been set free and given new life. Keeping that in mind and remaining humble in knowing we have not risen out of this world at all but have been saved and raised out by our Lord, we have no reason to boast at all in ourselves but bow down to our Lord in praise and thanksgiving that we are saved and share that amazing grace and offer of forgiveness, new life and freedom from sin with others in the hopes that they too would come to the knowledge and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and be set free themselves.

That is our mission. To love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We preach Christ Jesus and Him crucified. We preach His resurrection and life and that He is the Way and the Truth and the Life and that no one comes to the Father but by Him. There is no hope apart from Jesus Christ, only condemnation. But in Christ, we have newness of life for all eternity.

Let us fight the good fight of faith and share the gospel with as many people as possible that they too might be saved unto eternal life!

Praise be to God!

The ABC’s of Salvation no

The Gospel of Jesus Christ

Today is the day of Salvation: Why would anyone put off the most important decision they could ever make in their lives concerning eternal life? If you die today are you going to heaven?

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 – The apostle Paul tells us what the gospel is: “Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.

Gospel means “good news.” Your debt has been paid, the death penalty has been paid, you are free.

Here’s the Gospel of Jesus Christ: That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.

Jesus brought in a little child as a living object lesson to show who enters the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3 – Jesus said: “Unless you become like this little child you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.” This is how to be saved, it is simply child like, as simple as ABC:

A – Admit that you are a sinner. This is where that godly sorrow leads to genuine repentance for sinning against a righteous God and there is a change of heart, we change our mind and God changes our hearts and regenerates us from the inside out.

Romans 3:10 – As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one.”

Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (We are all born sinners which is why we must be born spiritually in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven).

Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The bad news is that the wages of sin is death, in other words our sin means that we have been given a death sentence, we have the death penalty hanging over our heads, that’s the bad news. But here’s the good news: The good news is that the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ephesians 2:8-9 – For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

B – Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and that God raised Jesus from the dead. This is trusting with all of your heart that Jesus Christ is who he said he was.

Romans 10:9-10 – That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

C – Call upon the name of the Lord. Every single person who ever lived since Adam will bend their knee and confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, the Lord of lords and the King of kings.

Romans 14:11 – For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.”

Don’t wait until later — do this now.

Romans 10:13 – “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

“O God, I am a sinner. I’m sorry for my sin. I want to turn from my sin. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son; I believe that He died on the cross for my sin and that He was buried and You raised Him to life. I have decided to place my faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior, trusting only in His shed blood as sufficient to save my soul and to take me to heaven. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving me. Amen.”

REMAIN

Are you remaining in Christ…

…or have you left?

1 John 2:19 CSB

[19] They went out from us, but they did not belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. However, they went out so that it might be made clear that none of them belongs to us.

Have you walked away from God? Have you been enticed away or driven away from fellowship with God and His people?

In John chapter 15, Jesus drives the point home that IF we remain in Him, He will remain in us. He also warns that if we do not remain in Him we will whither and die and by cast into the fire.

There is no life apart from Christ. In fact, in John 14:6 Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

If you’re not remaining in Christ. If the Holy Spirit is not working in and through your life, changing your heart to be more like Christ. If you’re not remaining in Him and He’s not remaining in you, guiding you, instructing you, teaching you, then you need to come back.

If you’re reading this right now and you know you’re not seeking Jesus and bowing in submission to Him as Lord daily, it’s not too late. His arms are open. He’s reaching out. You simply need to repent and turn back to Him.

Let the light and life of Jesus Christ back into your life today. He is the way so He will show you the way, He is the truth so He will teach you real truth and He is the life so He will give you new and everlasting LIFE.

Romans 10:9 says if you confess Jesus as LORD, (meaning you believe, confess, bow to and put your trust in Jesus AS your Lord over your life, thoughts, words and actions) and if you believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you WILL be saved. Romans 10:10 goes on to say that one believes with the heart and the result of that is righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth which results in salvation and everyone who believes on Him will not be put to shame.

The Bible makes it clear, this is not a one and done prayer of confession. There no magic phrase that makes you a “Christian” but so you can just keep living as lord over your own life. Christian means Christ-like. That’s not something we can do. Sure we can fake it for a little bit in little ways but to be truly transformed to be Christ-ians means we die to ourselves, surrender to Him as Lord and submit obediently to the working of the Holy Spirit within our hearts and lives.

In Luke 9:23 Jesus said, “If anyone wants to follow after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross DAILY, and follow Me.”

Philippians 1:6 says, “I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Being saved, being a Christian, being born again of the Spirit is a daily walk with the Lord, remaining in Him. Remaining in His Word. Remaining in humble obedience to Him as Lord. We don’t do it perfectly, but we follow Him by the power of His Spirit. We trust in His grace and mercy for when we stumble in our walk. We trust in the good work He has begun in us, that He WILL carry that work on, in and through us until the day of Christ Jesus.

If you’re reading this today, and you know you need to come back to Him, it’s not too late. He’s reaching out to you today.

What if this is one last chance? Don’t miss it.

2 Corinthians 6:1-2 CSB

[1] Working together with him, we also appeal to you, “Don’t receive the grace of God in vain.” [2] For he says: At an acceptable time I listened to you, and in the day of salvation I helped you. See, now is the acceptable time; now is the day of salvation!

Prophecy Being Fulfilled

Iran Receives Pushback from Moscow as Tehran Shifts Military Focus to Damascus

Exactly as predicted in the Bible. All the events are coming together at the same time. Israel became a nation in 1948. Israel reclaimed Jerusalem in 1967. Israel began training and preparing the tools, utensils, priests and artifacts for the third temple in the 1980’s and are now ready to build the temple. The re-formed Sanhedrin (a group of religious leaders that hasn’t been around for almost 2,000 years) dedicated the temple altar in December of last year. Russia, Turkey, Syria, Iran and Sudan all poised and ready to attack Israel (Ezekiel 38 & 39). The Bible prophesies about Damascus being destroyed in one night, becoming “a ruinous heap”. Iran is currently setting up a command center for military operations against Israel in the city of Damascus. Another event is the globalization of the world. One world government, currency and religion. That is being pushed forward on a daily basis with a plan even laid out by the United Nations on their website for global sustainability and community labeled Agenda 2030. Other signs that Jesus spoke about increasing in frequency and intensity are earthquakes in various places, famine, pestilence, and wars and rumors of wars. The signs of the end folks. They are coming together with increased intensity and frequency and all the right regions and events are coming together exactly as the Bible predicted.

Take this for what you will but it’s pretty amazing that everything, seemingly all separate events are coming together at the same time after Israel is reborn as a nation. That event was the set up and kickoff to all of this. If you don’t believe it, look into it and compare for yourself. Things are falling into place perfectly. It’s way too much and exact to all be coincidence. God gave us signs for a reason, so we would know what to look for, and what He gave us to look for is all happening right before our eyes.

If you’re not sure about your relationship with Jesus Christ, be sure today. Make sure you are saved. You do not want to be on the wrong side of things when this all goes down.

Is There an Afterlife?

Revelation 20:11-15 NKJV[11] Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. [12] And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. [13] The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. [14] Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. [15] And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Is your name written in the Book of Life?

Romans 3:23-24 NKJV

[23] for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, [24] being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

Jesus Christ is the only one who can save us from our sins and eternal death in the lake of fire.

1 Timothy 2:5 NKJV

[5] For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

John 14:6 NKJV

[6] Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

John 3:16-18 NKJV

[16] For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. [17] For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. [18] “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV

[21] For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

1 John 1:8-9 NKJV

[8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Acts 16:30-31 NKJV

[30] And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” [31] So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Matthew 16:24-26 NKJV

[24] Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. [25] For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. [26] For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

John 6:37 NKJV

[37] All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.

Matthew 7:21-23 NKJV

[21] “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. [22] Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ [23] And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

We have all sinned. We must acknowledge, confess that we have sinned against God. We must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ because He is Lord and God and the only one who has died for our sins. Then He rose from the dead to prove it, victorious over sin and death on our behalf. Believing in the Lord Jesus Christ means believing He is Lord, surrendering to Him as Lord and following Him as Lord. We are saved from our sins by faith and repentance, not of anything we can do to earn His grace and mercy and salvation. We are saved by faith in Him alone. But, our faith is made evident by our surrender to Him and the work He does in our lives to change us into the disciples He calls us to be. The Bible says there will be results of your salvation and evidence of your faith lived out as the Holy Spirit works in your heart.

Without Jesus, we are still in our sins. Through faith and surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ our sins are forgiven and we pass from spiritual death, eternal death in the lake of fire to eternal life. We are born again of the Spirit. We are made new. We are set free from sin and death and have life eternally and abundantly, secure in our God.

As it is written, all who’s names we’re not found in book of life were cast into the lake of fire. In the gospels Jesus describes it as everlasting punishment and torment, outer darkness, a lake of fire, where there will weeping and gnashing of teeth. Utter torment and hopelessness for eternity. Eternal consequences for sinning against the holiness of the eternal God. But in His perfect love for us He has provided a way for us to be saved from His judgement upon sin. The Lord Jesus Christ who took our place on the cross.

Be saved by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ today and watch the amazing work He will do in and through your life.

2 Corinthians 5:20 NKJV

[20] Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

Do All “Christians” Go To Heaven?

Matthew 7:21 NKJV[21] “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

2 Corinthians 13:5 NKJV [5] Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?-unless indeed you are disqualified.

“Christian” has become a label for anyone who has knowledge of God or anyone who just doesn’t identify with any other religion. I’ve even seen Christian/Other listed on forms where they ask about faith or belief. As we see in the verses above, not everyone who identifies themselves as a Christian is a true follower of Jesus Christ as Lord. Christian in the true sense means you are a committed, born again follower of Jesus Christ and surrendered to Him as your Lord over your life and everything you do. Not perfectly of course, but your life has definite evidence of death to your old self and that you are a new creation by faith, trusting in Jesus Christ as God and Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:17-18 NKJV [17] Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. [18] Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,

Are you sure you are saved? Are you sure Jesus Christ is your Lord and your Savior? Is there evidence of true faith and surrender to Jesus Christ as He changes your life? Is there conflict between the sinful ways of this world and your soul, or are you at peace with your daily life without considering what the Lord wants to do in and through you?

There is a huge difference between believing in Jesus Christ and following Him as Lord.

Please listen to this message in which Pastor Jack Hibbs really drives the point home. Are you truly saved in the Lord Jesus Christ?

Please listen to this today. Your eternity literally depends on the true answer to the test listed above in 2 Corinthians 13:5.

May God speak to your heart that you would know if you are truly “in the faith.” Whether you are or not. Please be sure today that you are saved either by realizing you are in the faith or you bow your heart in true surrender to Him today. Make sure today that your salvation is secure in Him.

I love each and every one of you that this is going out to. I want to see you in heaven and my heart breaks for those who will spend eternity in hell because they have rejected God’s only way of salvation. The Way, The Truth and The Life, He is the ONLY way to be saved from sin and eternal death and be reconciled to God. Jesus Christ!

False Sense of Eternal Security

I heard someone say on the radio today that the way to be saved is repent and receive Jesus’ free gift of salvation.

That is true, however it leaves out a BIG part of the gospel. Sadly, a lot of people are living their lives under a false sense of security. They are thinking they’re saved when they aren’t.

“I believe Jesus is the Son of God and that He rose from the dead. I believe He is the only way to heaven.”

That’s awesome, so does Satan and the demons. In fact, they know the whole story real well and are even more sure of those facts than you are.

What else you got?

“Well I said the sinners prayer at an altar call.”

Okay, you repeated some words that a pastor was saying as he lead you in this prayer.

What else ya got?

The real question here is this. Is Jesus Christ your Lord? Do you deny yourself, your plans, your hopes, your dreams, your desires and put Him as King above everything in your life? Is He Lord, King and God over your life and over everything you do? Does the Spirit convict you of your sins bringing you to repentance when you mess up? Is there spiritual fruit in your life that shows evidence of your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord.

Or have you gone on living as you always have with no conviction, no battle between your flesh and spirit, no regard for what God wants for you or from you, no interest or pull toward the things of God, no change in behavior as the Spirit works in and through your life to make you more like Christ…..a CHRISTian?

So many people want Him as their savior but haven’t surrendered to Him as Lord. They are walking around under a false sense of eternal security because of what they KNOW theologically and a prayer they said once at an event instead of true humble faith and surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible is clear that we are saved by faith in Jesus Christ. It is also clear that if that faith doesn’t result in a surrendered life to Jesus Christ as Lord and King and spiritual growth (by that I mean biblical spiritual growth), then your faith is dead and useless. All you have is theological knowledge.

James 2:19-20 NKJV

[19] You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble! [20] But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?

Matthew 16:24-26 NKJV

[24] Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. [25] For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. [26] For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

John 3:3 NKJV

[3] Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Galatians 5:16-18 NKJV

[16] I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. [17] For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. [18] But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Romans 12:1-2 NKJV

[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. [2] And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

You’re Not One of Those “Born Agains” Are You???

People mockingly say, “You’re not one of those born agains are you?”

Or they say, “Well yeah I’m a Christian but I’m not one of those crazy born agains.”

John 3:3 NKJV [3] Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Matthew 16:24-26 NKJV [24] Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. [25] For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. [26] For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

We can’t rely on our belief to save us if that belief has not lead to the denial of ourselves and the surrender to Him as Lord. Not just the acknowledgement that He is Lord, but surrender. He must be Lord over our lives and everything we do.

James 2:19-20 NKJV [19] You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble! [20] But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?

The demons know who Jesus is. They know all about the Bible and believe and know every Word as truth. They’re still condemned to hell because they have rejected Him as their Lord and rebelled against Him.

A question we all need to ask ourselves is, do we have demon faith, or true surrendered faith?

Jesus says in Matthew 7 that not all who say to Him, “Lord, Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven but those who do the will of His Father in Heaven.

The Bible is clear in Romans 3 and many other passages that we are saved by faith alone. But it is also perfectly clear that the faith we rely on for our salvation must have substance to it. We must be surrendered to Him AS Lord! That means we humbly bend our will to His. We obey Him. He is Lord and we follow and obey His commands as such.

Jesus Himself is perfectly clear. If He is to be our savior, He must be our Lord. If He’s not truly your Lord, He cannot be your savior. You can’t get to heaven without being reconciled to God and you can’t be reconciled to God without Jesus and you can’t follow Jesus as Lord without first coming to Him in repentance and surrendering to Him as Lord and God over your life.

John 14:6 NKJV [6] Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

I’m not writing this to pick on or pass judgement on anyone. I am writing this as a warning to those who may think they are saved and are not because of a shallow religious belief or a prayer they said at an altar call but have not really surrendered their will to the obedient following of Jesus Christ whom they call Lord.

We are definitely in the last days here folks and it’s time to take stock of our faith and make sure it’s true.

2 Corinthians 13:5 NKJV [5] Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?-unless indeed you are disqualified.

Take this seriously. The Lord could call His church home at any moment or you could pass into eternity at any moment by death.

Are you sure you are ready???

If you’re not “one of those born agains”, you better become one through true faith in Jesus Christ.

The Word of God

2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV

[16] All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, [17] that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
How can we possibly hope to live our lives without the Word of God?
It IS our life for in it are the Words of eternal life. In it is the nourishment for our souls, the encouragement and guidance for our steps and service to God, and our weapons for defeating the enemy and temptation, and the gospel for reaching other souls to rescue them from the pit of hell.
It is above all the most important possession we could possibly have on earth second only to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit which really go hand in hand.
And how often we let it sit idly on the nightstand as the distractions of life creep in as if it were some common boon. Oh how we need to make a conscious and deliberate effort to spend time with God in His Word, daily.
Lord help us not to treat your Word as common but as our most valued possession. Help us to dig through it as if we were searching for treasures more precious than gold. Because they are. Thank you for your Word Lord. In Jesus our Lord we pray, AMEN!
