How many people today say, “I believe in God” and think that their knowledge of God and Jesus is enough to save them. James warns us in chapter two of his book that faith without works is a dead and useless faith. What he means is, faith that has no evidence of being born again of the Spirit, no evidence of the Holy Spirit working within us to change us from sin to righteousness, darkness to light, is no true faith at all. He said, the demons also believe and shudder.
Jesus said, “REPENT, and believe the gospel.” In Acts 17:30 it says that God declares that all people everywhere should REPENT.
Jesus said in John chapter 3 that unless we are born again of the Spirit, we will not enter into the Kingdom of God. He also said that if we want to follow Him, we must deny ourselves, take up our cross daily and follow Him. That means to deny your own desires, let go of your sin, die to yourself and follow Him in faithful obedience daily. We don’t do this religiously under our own ability and power but in full surrender to Him as Lord, full repentance, turning away from sin and turning to Him as Lord and Savior to be changed, born again of the Spirit of God.
Paul puts it this way in Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
— Romans 6:23
…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;
— Romans 3:23-24
There are two roads. One that leads to eternal life and one that leads to eternal death. Unless we come to Jesus Christ in repentance and faith, we’re already condemned on the way to eternal death and God’s judgement upon sin in the lake of fire, hell. But by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ, we are forgiven our sins, filled with His Spirit, clothed in His righteousness and given eternal life, having been brought from death to life, from darkness into His everlasting Light.
Jesus the Christ, the Messiah, fully God, fully man, was born of a virgin, lived among us in His own creation, died on a Roman cross, and on the third day thereafter, rose again as first born from the dead to trail-blaze for us the way to eternal life. Paul declared in his second letter to the church in Corinth that God the Father made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
Please don’t glaze over or scroll past this today. Come to God through faith and trust in Jesus Christ who died to rescue us from our sins and rose again for our justification to give us eternal life through faith in Him.
He is LORD! He is the only one who can save us from the wrath and judgement that God will destroy sin with once and for all eternity. Don’t stay under His wrath and judgement. He’s provided the way to be saved.
The choice is set before each and every one of us. Death or Life. Sin or Righteousness. Darkness or Light. This world and ourselves, or Jesus the Messiah and His eternal Kingdom.
Please choose LIFE. Please don’t miss this today. It could be your last chance to come to Him in faith and repentance.
